Description
This milepost, located 100 yards west of number 195 on Wakefield Road in Scissett, dates from the late 19th century. It features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscriptions indicate directions to Wakefield and Denby Dale, stating that Skelmanthorpe is 9 miles away and Denby is 1½ miles away.
