Description
22 and 24 King Street are a pair of weavers' houses dated 1810. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with quoins and feature a stone slate roof that has gable copings on cut kneelers. The houses have ashlar gable stacks and rise to three storeys. The central doorway of No. 22 has a deep lintel and a plaque above it inscribed with "B J M 1810." There is a similar doorway, likely added later, to the left. The left side has a 2-light window where the mullion has been removed, while the right side features a 3-light window. On the first floor, there is one 3-light window and one 4-light window, and on the second floor, there is a continuous 10-light window. Later houses are located at the rear.
