Description
This is a house located at 1 Wood Street, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and has a stone slate roof that is covered in bitumen. There are two stacks, with an ashlar stack on the left and a brick stack on the right. The house has two storeys and features a near-central doorway with a deep lintel and large jambs. To the right of the doorway is a 4-light window. On the left, there is an inserted doorway that likely replaced a window, with two lights of the original window remaining to the left. The first floor has one 3-light window and one 6-light window. At the rear, there is an outshut on the right that is of the same construction, along with a later addition on the left. A similar house is located to the right, but it is not included in this listing.
