Description
Central Methodist Church is a Wesleyan Church built in the late 19th century. It is constructed of small, coursed, squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a green slate roof. The north front has two storeys, with a nave and aisles that are topped by a wide gable, side parapets, and gabled dividing buttresses. The central entrance is located under a small gable, and above it is a large window with plate tracery, accompanied by an extended frieze that is inscribed 'WESLEYAN CHURCH'. The other windows are lancet-style. The three-bay returns have paired windows and stepped buttresses that define the bays. Inside, there is a gallery, along with good quality original panelling and a raised pulpit.
