Description

Moorcroft Farm is a group of five dwellings built in the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered, and feature quoins. They have a pitched stone slate roof with gable copings on long carved footstones and paired stone brackets. The structures are two storeys high.

For Nos. 3, 4, and 5, the east elevation has three entrances on the ground floor, each with stone surrounds, two of which include tie-stones. There are also two five-light stone mullioned windows, one of which has casements with rounded heads, and one three-light stone mullioned window. On the first floor, there is a single 16-light stone mullioned window, although four lights have been blocked to create three four-light windows, and one six-light stone mullioned window.

No. 2 is positioned at a 90-degree angle to Nos. 3, 4, and 5. Its ground floor features an entrance with a stone surround and tie-stones, which is currently blocked, and one two-light stone mullioned window. On the first floor, there is a three-light stone mullioned window. The east gable includes a loading door with stone surrounds and tie-stones at first floor level, while the west gable has a lean-to extension with a curved wall and an entrance with a stone surround.

No. 1, located on the west elevation, has a ground floor entrance with a stone surround and two single side lights, which are later additions, as well as another entrance with a stone surround that has been altered and a large modern window. On the first floor, there are three three-light stone mullioned windows, each with one mullion removed.
