Description

Lodge to Oakes School, located at the corner of Wellington Street, is a mid-19th century building constructed from hammer-dressed stone. It features a pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves and gables that have bargeboards supported by paired brackets. The lodge is two storeys tall and has sash windows in lancet shapes, some of which are paired and have cusped pointed heads. The ground floor includes a canted bay with pointed sashes and a hipped slate roof. There is also a timber porch with a hipped slate roof and a decorative carpentry valence.
