Description
Higher Lane Lodge is a lodge built in 1879, constructed from rock-faced stone with a slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a porch block at the angle under a hipped roof. The building has a weathered base and quoins. Most of the windows are designed with two or three ogee-headed lights, each with label moulds. The porch block includes cusped lights. The entrance features a segmental pointed head with a hoodmould, and the gables are stone-coped with iron finials, also on the hipped roof. The lodge has a central cluster of diamond-shaped chimney stacks.
