Former House Approximately 10 Metres To North Of Oats Royd House

This former house, located approximately 10 metres north of Oats Royd House, dates from the mid-19th century and is now used as an outbuilding. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with the left-hand bay on the ground floor containing two outhouses. There are two doorways in bay 1 and a third doorway between bays 2 and 3, all featuring plain stone surrounds. The windows in bays 2 and 3, as well as three above, are 16-pane sashes with stone lintels and projecting sills. The eaves are stepped, and the hipped roof has a corniced ridge stack positioned between bays 1 and 2. An external staircase on the left side provides access to a blocked doorway on the first floor. Inside, there is a corniced stone fireplace in the central room, along with smaller stone fireplaces with grates in the central and left-hand rooms on the first floor. The building is included for its group value and was noted to be in a state of neglect at the time of resurvey.
