Description

Mill House is a house that dates from the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone that has been painted, and it features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and four bays, with later additions at the rear.

At the front, there is a plinth and a chamfered quoined doorway located between the third and fourth bays, which is covered by a gabled porch added around 1980. To the right of the doorway is a 20th-century window, and to the left is a tall two-light window with four-pane sashes. There is another door, which is glazed, in a plain stone surround in the second bay, accompanied by a four-pane window to its left. The first bay has a four-pane sash window to the left of a projecting lateral stack.

On the first floor, there are chamfered mullion windows, arranged from left to right as follows: a two-light window (with the mullion missing), a six-light window, another six-light window, and a seven-light window. The roof features shaped kneelers with finials and ashlar coping. There is an end stack to the right that has been heightened above the cornice, and a ridge stack located between the second and third bays.

On the right side of the house, there is a chamfered doorway with a four-centred arch that has been blocked, along with a window. The left side features a four-light window under a hoodmould on the first floor.
