Description

This barn, located 20 metres to the west of School Land Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble brought to course, with dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. The barn features three bays and is single-aisled, with an eastern cart entry framed by a portal that includes reused cruck blades with half lap joints serving as a lintel. There is a mistal doorway positioned within the re-entrant angle. The aisle contains two windows that have wooden lintels and chamfered sills. The western cart entry is notable for its large monolithic lintel and composite jambs. An owl hole is present in the north gable.
