Description
A row of nine cottages located at 2-18 Church Street, Heptonstall, with number 8 inserted within the group. The cottages were built around 1820 to 1830. They are constructed from finely dressed stone with a stone slate roof. Each cottage is two stories high and has a single room per floor. They feature quoins and a doorway with tie-stone jambs, located to the left of a three-light, flat-faced mullioned window with a projecting sill. Above each ground-floor window is a four-light window. Number 8 has had a window removed and replaced with a garage door. Gutter brackets are present, and the gables are coped with kneelers. There are eight stacks along the ridge. The left-hand return wall has a circular window to light the attic of number 18.
