Description

This is a group of seven cottages located on the north side of Oldfield Lane in Keighley. Built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the cottages appear in three distinct builds. They are constructed of coursed millstone grit with stone slate roofs. Each cottage is two storeys high and has two first-floor windows. The window openings have stone surrounds, incorporating flat-faced mullions. Number 32 has a door on the left side and a three-light window to the right, with two single-light windows above; a stack is positioned at the left end. Cottages 34 and 36 each have end doors with tie-stone jambs, a three-light window to the ground floor, and two two-light windows above. They share a central stack. Numbers 38, 40, 42 and 44 generally have a door on the right side, though number 38 has a door on the left; each features a three-light window to the ground floor and two two-light windows above. Stacks are positioned at the left end of each cottage, with number 38 having a stack at its right end.
