Description

Ponden Corn Mill is a former corn mill dating from the mid-17th century that has undergone significant alterations. The building is constructed of irregularly coursed gritstone and features a gable end roof now covered with pantiles. It has large quoins and on the north gable end at first-floor level, there is a splayed chamfered mullion window that was originally four lights, but now only the central mullion remains, with a raised edge to the face of the mullion and the inner surround. On the east side, adjacent to modern garage doors, there is a two-light mullioned window in a splayed surround, although the mullion has been removed. The mill is included for its group value.
