Description
Far Coney Garth Farmhouse and barn is a farmhouse and attached barn dating from the 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings and features stone slate roofs with ashlar coped gables and kneelers. It has a single ridge stack and a single 20th-century stack.
The south front of the farmhouse is two storeys high and has two doorways with flush ashlar surrounds and plank doors. The left doorway is accompanied by a three-light mullion window. To the right, there is a two-light mullion window, each light featuring a plain sash, followed by another doorway with a flush ashlar surround and a plank door. Above the left doorway, there is a four-light chamfered mullion window, which has been altered to a two-light window with sash windows. To the left, there is a pair of sash windows in flush ashlar surrounds. Beyond this, a former two-light chamfered mullion window has been modified with a glazing bar window.
To the right, a lower two-storey addition features three two-light flush mullion windows, with the central window having a plain sash and the outer windows blocked. Above this addition, there are two similar windows, each with a plain sash.
The barn to the left has two doorways and an inserted window. The rear of the farmhouse has a projecting stone midstray with a large cart entrance that has a timber lintel. To the left, the house features a small two-light mullion window, and a similar window that has been enlarged with a later window inserted. Above, there is another small mullion window and beyond it, a small sash window.
