Description

The coach house located approximately 10 metres to the north-east of Oats Royd House is a mid-19th century structure. It is built from coursed squared stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is situated on a slope and has two storeys on the right side, with three bays and a single-storey bay on the left, while the rear has two storeys.

Notable architectural features include rusticated quoins with raised panels, a central round-arched carriage entry that is flanked by similar quoins, a dropped keystone, and a panelled board double door adorned with lion bosses. On either side of the carriage entry, there are arched windows with rusticated quoins and corbelled cills, along with a four-panel door set in a plain stone surround. Above these, three keyed oculi are present.

The building has a table and modillion cornice, with a central pediment that includes a keyed lunette and a moulded cornice. The left bay features a carriage entry similar to the main block, although the door hinges are now missing, replaced by a board door with a fanlight. The eaves match those of the main block. At the rear, there is a central carriage entry similar to the front, with a window and door to the right, and a lunette flanked by oculi above. The right-hand bay has a window on the ground floor and a door with a stone slab landing on the first floor, where the stair has since been removed, along with keyed oculi to the right.
