Description
Wood Hall is a traditional stone house dated 1689, located on Woodhouse Lane. It features a stone roof and stands three storeys tall. The front has two wide gables with finials and a two-storeyed gabled porch that includes an arched entrance, with shields in the spandrels displaying the initials IW. Each side of the porch has 5-light mullioned and transomed windows, which have been altered at the ground storey. The house has similar return gables and a two-storeyed back range that includes a 7-light window to the east and two gables on the rendered rear. Inside, the main ground floor room has moulded cross beams on the ceiling and elaborately carved panelling around the high chimney arch, although not all of it is original.
