Description
Peel House is a substantial traditional stone house dated 1691, with later alterations from the 18th and early 19th centuries. It features a stone roof and stands two storeys tall. The main front is irregular, with finials on the gabled cross wings, although the east wing has been altered. There is a two-storeyed gabled porch that includes an arched doorway, and the inner door has the initials AW and is dated 1598, which likely does not refer to the current structure. The house has mullioned windows with round-arched lights, and in many cases, the central pair of lights are united with an arched top from the 18th century. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a lean-to. The two-storeyed gabled porch has an arched doorway, and the mullioned windows have been altered. Additionally, there is a date and inscription RSW above the fireplace in a ground floor room.
