Description
Nos. 6, 10, 12, and 14 on Square Road are four dwellings that were formed out of six cottages, built in the early 19th century. They share a single roof line and feature watershot masonry with a stone slate roof. The building consists of six bays, with quoins at the junction of the third and fourth bays and at the last bay. Each bay has a chamfered mullioned window with three lights on each floor, along with doorways that have tie-stones and simple chamfers. The ground floor windows of No. 12 have been altered. Only three stacks remain on the ridge. This building is a remarkable example of vernacular architecture.
