Description

These are a pair of early 19th century cottages built as infill between numbers 14 and 20, and attached to a longer row of cottages. The cottages are constructed of watershot masonry with a stone slate roof, and have quoins to the right-hand end. Each cottage has a doorway with tie-stones, and a three-light chamfered mullioned window above the doorway. Number 16 is partially built over the gable of number 14, and has a rear passage entry. The windows of number 18 appear to retain their original glazing, with a central sash window flanked by fixed lights. A stack has been removed. They represent a notable example of vernacular architecture, similar to numbers 20 to 36.
