Description
Todmorden Walsden Church of England Infants School is a school built around 1875. It features pitch-faced stone with ashlar dressings and a fish-scale slate roof, and is a single storey structure with reshaped hall and gabled cross-wings, designed in the Vernacular Revival style. The building has mullioned and transomed windows with stepped lights in the cross-wings. A central projection beneath a low gable includes an 8-light window with carved head terminations on the hoodmould. Above this is a recess with a carved tablet depicting St. Peter's keys. The gables are coped and have finely moulded kneelers. At the rear, there are three tall lateral stacks with offsets, along with two additional stacks. This is a modest but well-preserved example of its type.
