Description
Inchfield Fold Farmhouse is a house built in 1631, constructed from dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and features a double pile under a single span roof. The building has a plinth and quoins. The north gable faces the road and shows remnants of double chamfered mullioned windows with two and three lights, complete with hoodmoulds. Above these are four flat-faced mullioned windows with two lights each.
On the left side of the return wall, there is a doorway with a basket arch inscribed 'G T 1631', which stands for George and Mary Travis. This doorway has composite jambs with a chamfered surround that bears the initials 'E T'. There is also a double chamfered mullioned window with four lights, although it is missing two mullions, and above it is a chamfered mullioned window with three lights.
Attached to the farmhouse and slightly set back from the return wall are two additional bays featuring a weathered plinth and watershot masonry. There is a blocked doorway with monolithic jambs, and on either side of this doorway are 18th-century chamfered mullioned windows. The left window has three lights with a similar window above, while the right window has six lights with a similar window above, though both are missing one mullion.
