Description
Nos. 34, 36, 38, and 40 on Oldham Road are four cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and feature a graduated stone slate roof. Each cottage is double-depth, with two storeys and one bay, except for No. 34, which has two bays. The cottages were built at slightly different times and each has a door with a square-cut surround on the left side. Nos. 38 and 40 have three-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows on each floor, while No. 36 has five-light windows on each floor, and No. 34 features a four-light window on each floor along with an additional two-light window on the first floor. The cottages have ridge chimney stacks and include two and three-light windows in the gable and rear, with a blocked taking-in door at the back.
