Description
Dumfries Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on the west side of Ripponden Road in Saddleworth. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The house has two bays and is two stories high, with quoins at the corners. To the left, there is a door with a square-cut surround, which is obscured by a 20th-century porch. The ground floor has three windows with three lights and one window with two lights, all featuring recessed cavetto-moulded stone mullions. Additionally, there is a window inserted between the three-light and two-light windows. On the first floor, there are two similar three-light windows. The farmhouse has two ridge chimney stacks. Please note that the adjoining Dumfries Farm Cottage is not included in this listing.
