Description
Junction House is a house, now divided into three houses, located on Huddersfield Road in Denshaw. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and features two storeys with a central staircase, comprising seven bays across the front and three bays deep.
The symmetrical five-bay facade has two additional bays added to the right. The entrance door, located in the third bay, is framed with an architrave and features an enriched frieze and cornice. There are six ground floor and seven first floor sash windows, all with square-cut surrounds. To the right, there is an addition (No. 4) that includes a gable entrance with a rusticated surround and a keystone lintel. The building also has shaped eaves gutter brackets and ridge chimney stacks. The three-bay left elevation mirrors the front with similar windows and a door topped with a pediment on console brackets.
