Laithe house. Late C18. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof with coped gable (to house) with moulded kneelers. 2 storeys. Pair of cottages, now one, with barn built at right angles to form protection on high windy hill site. Each cottage has doorway with monolithic jambs and 4-light flat faced mullioned window to both floors. Barn has elliptical arch with projecting keystone and impost blocks.
