Description
Haworth Hall, formerly known as Gib, is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made when a barn was added in the mid 19th century. The building has been significantly altered in the 1980s during modernization efforts. It features large dressed stone and a stone slate roof. The barn, located at the left end of the south entrance front, has a semi-circular arched cart entry with an impost block and a dropped keystone. To the left of the cart entry is a mistal doorway with a chamfered surround. There is a 4-light flat-faced mullioned window to the left of the doorway, with a sill-tie jamb partly obscured by a wood and glass porch, and a 4-light window above it. Another window, which has a chamfered surround and arched lights, lacks mullions, and a 6-light chamfered window has been altered to form 2 large lights. The first floor has two windows with two wide lights and plain stone surrounds. The right-hand return wall is rendered with a scalloped surface. The rear of the building has similar fenestration to the front, with one window featuring a monolithic lintel carved with three arched heads and sunken spandrels, which has been altered to form one rectangular light. There are two stacks on the ridge that are not original. This building is included for its group value only.
