Description
Coppy Farmhouse and the attached barn are a laithe-house dating from the early 19th century. The building features watershot masonry and a stone slate roof, with quoins and kneelers but no coping on the gables. The two-cell house has a four-light flat-faced mullioned window made up of two large square lights flanked by narrow lights, with a similar arrangement above on the first floor. There is a doorway with tie-stone jambs and a square window above it with a two-light window. The cart entry has a stilted round arch, and there is a mistal doorway at a lower level, also with tie-stone jambs. The rear of the building includes two-light windows and two doorways, one of which is blocked, both featuring tie-stone jambs. The house has two stacks at the ridge. Inside the barn, there are two wide transverse stone arches, one of which is blocked and located in the division between the house and the barn. The property is associated with the Savile Estate.
