Description
Nos 26 and 28 on North Street in Haworth are two dwellings that were originally a single house built in the 17th century. The building is constructed from rendered rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. It has a T-shaped plan with a cross passage and stands two storeys tall with three bays, including a crosswing on the left side. The exterior displays quoins and a Tudor-arched doorway on the right, which has a 20th-century glazed door.
The ground floor features double-chamfered mullion windows with round-headed lights, comprising a three-light window and a six-light window with a king mullion. The first floor has a four-light window and a two-light window flanking a later square casement window. A continuous dripmould runs along the ground floor. The crosswing includes a four-light window on the ground floor and a five-light window above, along with a board door in a plain stone surround with interrupted jambs on the right return. The right gable is topped with coping, and there is a ridge stack.
At the rear, there is a Tudor-arched, chamfered doorway with quoining on the left side. A 20th-century gabled porch incorporates features from the 17th century at bay three. The double-chamfered mullion windows have hoodmoulds, with some parts renewed in the 20th century.
