Description
Numbers 1 and 2 Lower Park are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century, with an added barn from the early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high.
No. 1 has a four-light thin flat mullioned window and a doorway with tie stones, above which is a five-light window and a single light window, although some of the mullions have been removed. No. 2 features a five-light mullioned window and a doorway with tie stones, above which is a date plaque inscribed 'EMM 1782', possibly reset, along with a two-light mullioned window and a single light window above the door.
The barn has an elliptical arched-headed entrance with skewback and impost to the jambs, consisting of four bays. It includes one original queen strut truss and two later king-post trusses.
