Description

Number 8 Moor Hey is a cottage built in the early 19th century as part of a long row of cottages. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and has a stone slate roof that shares the same ridge line as Nos. 6 and 7. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade featuring a central doorway that has monolithic jambs. This doorway is flanked by flat-faced mullioned windows with three lights, and there is a single window above the door. Below the roof, there is a string course supported by large square stone gutter brackets. A gable stack is located at the ridge.
