Description

This barn, located 20 meters to the east of High Greenwood Farmhouse, is dated 1834, though it may also date to 1854. It is constructed from well-coursed dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn is single aisled and has tall paired cart entries at the front, which are topped with elliptical arches and a keystone. Above these entries is a 2-light window with arched heads and false keystones. On either side of the cart entries are mistal doorways with small windows. The left-hand return wall includes rectangular ventilators and an owl hole at the apex, which bears the date. The rear aisle has three doorways and four single-light windows. The gables are coped and feature kneelers.
