Description
This barn, located approximately 17 metres southeast of Westfield Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone, with thinner courses at the top, and features a stone slate roof. The barn consists of three bays and has a central segmental-arched cart entry that includes imposts, voussoirs, and a keystone. There are mistal doorways at either end, and above the cart entry, there is a square opening flanked by lunettes. The rear of the barn has an opposing cart entry and a mistal door on the right, with a triangular opening above the cart entry also flanked by lunettes. Each gable features a lunette owl-hole. Inside, the barn has Queen post roof trusses with angle struts. At the time of the last survey, the barn was in a state of dereliction. It is included for its group value.
