Description
Bents Knoll is a house, now used for agricultural purposes, dating from the mid 17th century. It is constructed of rubble brought to course with dressed quoins and has a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a three-room plan with opposed doorways, although it lacks a passage opening directly into the service area.
On the ground floor, there are double chamfered mullioned windows, while the first floor features single chamfered windows. The ground floor includes a four-light window with a three-light window above it; a 19th-century doorway has been created from the four-light window, and there is a former two-light fire-window that has been altered to form a doorway. This doorway has composite jambs and a chamfered surround, with a three-light window above on the first floor. The rear of the building has a similar doorway, a two-light window, and two small chamfered lights. There is a gable stack at the service end and the remains of another stack. The right-hand return wall has two three-light windows.
