Description

This barn, located to the east of High Hall, dates back to 1665. It is constructed of ashlar and rubblestone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The barn has two storeys and consists of two bays. The central area features a blocked-in wagon entrance with quoined jambs and a chamfered, segmental arch made of voussoirs. Above this entrance is a stone inscribed with 'W C'. To the left of the entrance is a later outshut, while to the right are two-light chamfered mullioned windows, with a similar window located above. The structure also includes shaped kneelers and moulded stone coping.
