Description
Prospect House is a house built in 1665, constructed of ashlar and rubblestone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays. On the left side of the right-hand bay, there is a half-glazed door set in a plain stone surround, flanked by three-light double-chamfered mullioned windows, all beneath a continuous hoodmould. To the left of the door, there is a blocked doorway with a sash window above it, featuring a segmental head and the inscription 'TN 1665'. The left-hand bay has a window similar to that of the right-hand bay. On the first floor, the right-hand bay contains a small chamfered semicircular-headed window, while to the left of this and in the left-hand bay are three-light double-chamfered mullioned windows. Between these, to the left, is a small circular window, and to the right is a two-light double-chamfered mullion window. The house features shaped kneelers and stone coping, with one stack at the end to the right and another at the ridge. Inside, there is a large inglenook fireplace with a segmental arch and a smaller chimney-piece with a three-centred head.
