SE 02SW RIPPONDEN (former U.D.) LIGHTHAZLES ROAD, Lighthazles, Soyland

2/70 Gateway and attached wall _ at right angles 10m to north of Clay House

GV II

Gateway initialled and dated "S C" , and attached single storey wall of former 1690 house with 10-light double chamfered mullioned window with decorated label stops and king mullion. Finely dressed stone wall with cart entry with monolithic lintel with chamfered surround to left of former window with decorated label stops. This forms front wall for agricultural building with stone slate roof. At right angles, parallel with the road is segmental arched gateway with skewbacks, composite jambs and chamfered surround in similar dressed stone. Parapet with bases for 3 ball-finials (balls missing) the central of which bears inscription.
