Description
Nos 45 and 46, known as Prospect House, along with the barn adjoining No 45, is a 17th-century farmhouse that was altered in the early 19th century when it briefly served as a school. The building is two stories tall and constructed from coursed gritstone, which was refaced in the early 19th century. At the same time, a small cottage was added, made from sandstone "brick". The roof is covered with stone slates, and there are corniced chimneys. The windows are early 19th-century square mullions, featuring two and three lights within squared surrounds. The main doorway has squared jambs and a cornice-hood. Attached to No 45 is a plain sandstone "brick" barn with a stone slate roof, built in the early to mid-19th century.
