Description
Park House, built in 1635 as indicated by a dated lintel, is a two-storey house constructed of coursed gritstone. It features large quoins and a stone slate roof. The building has four and six light chamfered mullion windows, which are squat and positioned under the eaves on the first floor, set in splayed stepped reveals, with dropped drip moulds on the ground floor. The principal front faces southwest and includes a plain ashlar doorway from the late 18th century or early 19th century, complete with a cornice. The original doorway has been altered to windows but retains its dated lintel. The north front exhibits some early 19th-century alterations. Inside, the house features boxed beams and some rendered stud partitions. The panelled living room includes work from the 17th century, although most of it is from the 19th century.
