Description

Upper Park House Cottages are mid-17th century modest dwellings that showcase interesting window designs. The buildings are two storeys high, constructed from large coursed gritstone blocks with substantial quoins. They feature a stone slate roof topped with corniced 18th-century chimneys. Each cottage has two windows on each floor, positioned low under the eaves. One window has three lights, while the other has five lights, both with chamfered mullions and deep splayed reveals. Each light is topped with a rounded head and has panelled spandrels. The ground floor windows have dropped weathered drip moulds. The doorway has chamfered jambs and a four-centred arched lintel.
