Description

The tram shed, located at the junction with Clarence Road, was built in 1904 and is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof. It is a single-storey building with a basement on the right side due to the sloping ground. The front features two gabled bays and is seven bays long. There are two large, square-headed doorways, each flanked by an intermediate iron pier and topped with an ashlar joggled lintel that has triple keystones. The front also includes clasping buttresses and a central pillar with ashlar upper portions and sunk panels. Each gable apex has a square panel adorned with a cartouche and foliage decoration, topped by a small swept triangular pediment. The cartouches display raised letters: "BC "19 and T 04".

To the right, there is a small gabled reception office with a canted bay. The rear elevation features a Diocletian window on each gable and a lower flat-roofed projection. The left return elevation is divided by buttresses similar to those on the front, with a Diocletian window with glazing bars in each bay, and plain windows on the right side that extends from the reception office. Continuous roof lights run along each pitch of the two-span roof. The interior has not been inspected.
