Description
Nos 23 and 25 Albert Road are a pair of semi-detached executive houses completed by 1868, designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of two bays each. The central two bays are gabled, while the outer bays are set back and contain the entrances. The ground floor has 2-light windows, and the first floor of the gabled bays features 2-light Venetian Gothic windows, which include a central engaged colonnette, a blind circle in the tympanum, and alternately coloured voussoirs. The side bays have single-light windows on the first floor. Moulded stone brackets support the gutter, and the gables have bracketed copings. The houses have a hipped roof and are part of the Saltaire model village.
