Description
This is a pair of executive houses, numbers 63 and 65 Albert Road, completed by 1868 as part of the Saltaire model village. They were designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt. The houses are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof. They are two storeys high and have two bays each. The central two bays are gabled, while the outer bays are set back and contain the entrances. The ground floor features two-light windows, with the mullions removed from number 63. The first floor of the gabled bays has two-light Venetian Gothic windows, incorporating a central engaged colonnette, a blind circle in the tympanum, and alternately coloured voussoirs. The side bays have single-light windows on the first floor. Moulded stone brackets support the gutter, and bracketed copings define the gables. The roof is hipped.
