Description

This is a terrace of workers' houses with end lodging houses, now converted into houses, located at 15 Caroline Street. It was designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt and is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with Welsh slate roofs. The terrace consists of two storeys, with each house having one bay. Each house features a plain entrance and one window on each floor, with some houses having added bathroom windows. The terrace includes paired stone gutter brackets.

At each end of the terrace, the end houses have distinct architectural features, including round-arched archivolted openings on the ground floor and square-headed openings on the first floor, which are set on a sill band with wooden gutter brackets. These end houses also have hipped roofs and two-bay left and right returns as front end bays. Their architectural significance enhances the visual appeal of both Caroline Street and Albert Terrace.
