Description

This is a pair of executive houses, numbers 11 and 13 Albert Road, completed by 1868 as part of the Saltaire model village. They were designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt. The houses are constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with number 13 being painted. They have Welsh slate roofs.

The design is of two storeys and two bays each. The central two bays are gabled, while the outer bays are set back, accommodating the entrances. The ground floor windows are two-light, although the mullions have been removed from number 11. The first floor of the gabled bays features two-light Venetian Gothic windows, including a central engaged colonnette (removed from number 11), a blind circle within the tympanum, and alternately coloured voussoirs. Single-light windows are found on the first floor of the side bays. The building features moulded stone brackets supporting the gutter, and bracketed copings to the gables. The roof is hipped.
