Description

The Manor House, located at 21 and 21A Rosebery Road in Manningham, is a pair of two-storey houses built around 1830. They feature a symmetrical front with three bays and are a rebuild and enlargement of former outbuildings from the nearby Old Manor House. The structure is made of sandstone "brick" with ashlar dressings, including a plinth and quoins. The hipped stone slate roof has a moulded eaves cornice supported by small modillion brackets, and there are corniced flanking chimneys. The houses have sash windows set in ashlar surrounds. The central door consists of six fielded panels and a rectangular fanlight, framed in ashlar with scrolled plain ashlar consoles that support a cornice and a reeded blocking course with quatrefoil corner blocks. The long side elevations display similar window arrangements, and the rear section incorporates earlier outbuildings. Notably, there is a four-light square mullion window next to the north wing, and the gable end features a saddlestone.
