Description
The memorial lych gate, gateway, and flanking walls located 25 meters east of Christ Church in Dore were built in the late 19th century and are dated 1921. The lych gate features ashlar side walls that support an open principal rafter roof covered with plain tiles, which is held up by posts and has segment-arched braces at both the front and rear. It includes a billeted tie beam. The gateway consists of square ashlar piers topped with pyramidal caps, and it has a pair of wooden gates with traceried designs. The serpentine flanking walls are made of coursed squared stone and include square piers with flat copings. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby church.
