Description
This building is a workshop located on the south side of Masons' Yard, dating from the early to mid-19th century and constructed for the Wentworth Estate. It features dressed sandstone and a Westmorland slate roof, with a symmetrical design comprising three bays. The central bay is two stories and projects forward, while the wings are single-story. There is a plinth, and each ground-floor bay has a quoined and rebated segmental archway; the archway on the right now has a 20th-century garage door, while the arches on the left have been infilled with plinth walls and 4-light casement windows. The wings have cast-iron gutter brackets, an eaves band, and end-hipped roofs. The first floor has a blind window and an eaves band under a hipped roof, while the rear features a casement window on the first floor.
The interior of the ground floor has been altered, and the first floor was not inspected but is said to contain nesting boxes. A timber louvre once existed at the apex of the roof. There are attached outbuildings that are not of special interest.
