4/80 Farmbuilding with dovecote on south-east side of farmyard at Home Farm

GV II

Combination farmbuilding, originally a shelter shed or cart-shed with dovecote over; now calf pens with hayloft. Mid C19. For the Wentworth Estate. Dressed sandstone, partly roughcast; Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 6 bays. End walls project as piers to support deeply overhanging eaves. Ground floor originally open-sided with upper wall supported on cast-iron columns and beam; openings now infilled with brick and stone slabs and each with boarded door to small loose box. Upper wall roughcast; single row of round-headed pigeon holes; central boarded door. Rear: ground-floor doorway; deep ledge at 1st-floor level with pigeon holes over. Cast-iron frame to lancet over door. Overhanging eaves.

Interior: nesting boxes removed. Attached farmbuildings not of special interest. forms part of the planned farm complex.
