Description
This is a combination farmbuilding from the early to mid-19th century, located approximately 20 metres west of the house at Mill Farm. It is constructed from coursed, squared limestone and features a pantile roof. The building serves as a stable and cowhouse, with haylofts above and a dovecote located behind the left gable. It is two storeys high with a partial loft and consists of four bays.
All openings are topped with segmental arches, including near-central stone steps that are flanked by doorways. There is a stable window on the far left and a low, wide opening for the cowhouse on the far right. On the first floor, there is a doorway leading from the landing into the hayloft, with slit vents to its right, and a boarded hatch over the stable window on the left. The gable features shaped kneelers and ashlar gable copings.
On the left return, there is a wide doorway to the stable on the right and a central first-floor window. The dovecote has a shorter gable window with a ledge. Inside, the cowhouse includes a central feeding passage with arcaded sides, while the stable has space for three horses. The interior of the dovecote has not been inspected.
