Description
22 High Street is a late 18th-century house that has been altered and was unoccupied at the time of the last survey in 1987. The building is cement-rendered with a 20th-century cement tile roof. It stands three storeys high and features a façade with two bays, a central projection, and a layout of 2:1:2 bays. The house has a plinth and rusticated brick quoins. The central entrance consists of a fielded-panel door and a fanlight with radial glazing bars, all set beneath a round arch. The outer bays on the ground and first floors have plain sash windows with projecting sills and flush wooden architraves. The central window on the first floor is round-headed, and above it is a rectangular plaque displaying a monogram and the date '1677'. On the second floor, there are two-light, horizontally-sliding sashes with glazing bars, also with projecting sills. The eaves cornice is present, along with rendered projecting end stacks that have bands. The interior has not been inspected.
